Amanda Bridgens, BS, AA is currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at our Danville, Illinois clinic. She enjoys working with individuals aged 18 and above who are seeking support for various mental health concerns. Amanda’s goal is to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients feel valued, heard, and respected. She tailors her approach to meet each client's unique needs and preferences, fostering a sense of independence and empowerment in their journey towards healing and personal growth.
Education & History
Amanda is in the process of obtaining her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC). She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Safety Management and Leadership, and an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts.
Amanda is deeply passionate about enhancing others’ well-being and is dedicated to making a positive difference. Driven by a profound sense of purpose, she felt a strong calling to contribute to the solution in the mental health sector. She states, “I am a firm believer that everyone should have access to the necessary support and resources to reach their maximum potential. My main objective is to establish a safe and inviting space where clients feel appreciated, listened to, and empowered to delve into their experiences. Together, we can identify personalized, effective coping mechanisms and journey towards healing and personal growth.”
Amanda’s past roles include serving as a Direct Support Professional at Worksource Enterprises, where she provided care to individuals with developmental disabilities. She also volunteered at church events, promoting community involvement and support. These experiences have reinforced her commitment to serving others with compassion and inclusivity, as she aims to foster a nurturing environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

When not working, Amanda finds peace in nature. She enjoys various outdoor activities such as camping, tubing, hiking, and playing disc golf. Amanda also finds joy in spending time in her yard, engaging in landscaping projects, and planning for future endeavors. These activities provide relaxation and allow her to connect with the natural world and recharge. One of her greatest passions is teaching her boys to be emotionally independent and understand the importance of resilience and empathy in navigating life’s challenges.
