Following this experience, Brittney job shadowed and did a few internships which solidified that social work was the right path for her.
What it is like to work with Brittney
Brittney enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with a variety of issues including but not limited to: grief, depression, anxiety, anger management, trauma-focused CBT, etc. Her goal is to create an environment where the client feels comfortable to share as much as they want. Brittney wants the client to enjoy coming to therapy and feel like they are getting the best possible care by being in charge of their own therapy process.
Background and History
Brittney has diverse experience through a variety of internships. During her undergrad program, she did an internship at Safe Harbor Family Crisis Center where she worked with women and children who were survivors of domestic violence. During her Masters program, she did an internship at Hornet Park Elementary School. There she had the opportunity of working with children in grades K-1. Finally, in an internship at Warren Outpatient Clinic she worked with children, adolescents, and adults from all different backgrounds dealing with a variety of significant challenges.
Other Passions
In her free time Brittney enjoys cooking and is a Chicago Cubs fan (unfortunate, she knows.) Her guilty pleasure tv show is Grey’s Anatomy or New Girl. She likes animals and sports such as golf and pickleball. Recently, she has enjoyed making t-shirt blankets. Finally, she tries to spend time with her family and friends any chance that she gets.
